We are a nondenominational church of about 400 people. We meet in the cafeteria of Cactus High School for our Sunday Services and rent space from a church for our midweek service. We are very intentional about being a church family and are looking for a children's director with a similar passion for impacting children and their families for Christ.
The Children's Director shall be unashamedly pursuing a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and demonstrating a zeal for advancing the Kingdom of God. In addition, the Children's Director shall possess the administrative skills, and the interpersonal and relational skills needed to work with children and their families.
The Children's Director position will oversee all children's activities involving Nursery through 6th grade. The Children's director will report to the lead pastor, and will also take some direction from the Pastor's Council.
As a minimum, the Children's Director needs to demonstrate the following:
A personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord as well as a strong desire to serve within the church.
A lifestyle commitment that is consistent with the Christian life as well as a good example to the children.
Ability to work with children, volunteers, and parents.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to plan, organize, lead, and guide complex projects and spontaneous activities related to children's ministries.
Willingness to work cooperatively with others, to maintain a positive outlook and disposition, and to be flexible in solving problems.
The ability to protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality. Refraining from indiscriminately sharing personal information is critical. Discretion must be exercised when dealing with the public, children and their parents, and the church's leaders and members.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This is an ideal part-time position for the right person. At the very minimum, this position will require 15 hours per week (60 hours per month) to include:
Two Sunday Services: 1st service is a curriculum based, graded format while 2nd service is a children's church setting.
Wednesday night service is a curriculum based, graded format.
Coordinate seasonal events and outreaches: Christmas, Easter and VBS.
Curriculum development or selection.
Recruit, train, and provide leadership to volunteers.
Create fun learning environments in a High School setting.
The Children's Director will also meet weekly with the Lead Pastor and staff to outline plans for upcoming activities.
The compensation package is figured according to the hours worked, experience and the scope of responsibility. The church does not provide health insurance. All approved ministry expenses will be 100% reimbursed.
