This position is a leadership role and will work closely with the Leader of Operations and Finance. As the finance manager this position will perform accounting, budgeting, financial reporting and analysis, contribution and personnel functions. This position is also one who will lead as a spokesperson, setting direction and catalyze change that is aligned with our mission, along with strategically accomplishing the tasks of the role. This person should desire to continue to grow professionally and spiritually, and one who will feel comfortable developing an in-depth knowledge of IPC and its ministries.
Oversee check requests and invoices for payment (AP)
Oversee contributions (AR) and deposits
Oversee and prepare monthly account reconciliations
Execute monthly and year end closing
Oversee processing of quarterly contribution statements for church donations
Manage General Ledger, Bank Accounts, and Investment Accounts
Problem solve with vendors, church members and employees
In partnership with our CPA firm, execute our annual financial review
Assist the Leader of Operations and Finance in order to establish an operating budget, and work with staff and lay leaders throughout the year
Train and oversee church finance volunteers
Research tools and develop new plans and processes for improvement
Prepare new hire packages and lead on-boarding processes
Perform benefits administration and work with benefits consulting firm
Prepare and process payroll
Other finance and office duties as assigned.
Must be an active member of a Christian Church
BA in finance, accounting or economics is required.
The position requires at least 6 years of work experience in finance and accounting – non-profit finance experience highly desired
Previous supervisory experience is required.
Able to work independently
Problem solving and process improvement skills are a must
Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills and possess organizational and time management skills.
Candidate should be highly proficient in using all Microsoft Office software products, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word

Work is generally performed in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable office environment
Extended time is expected to be worked at a computer work station
Workday is expected to have a high number of interruptions from phone calls, staff questions, and requests for information from other employees
Willingness to assist and collaborate on projects that others are leading is a necessary expectation and priority
Physical demands require the ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time, occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch, climb stairs, use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds
