First Baptist Church of McPherson, Kansas is seeking a qualified full-time youth pastor to disciple our youth. We are an evangelical American Baptist congregation with an average Sunday attendance of 250. We have a strong belief in the authority of Scripture and a senior pastor who is passionate about proclaiming the truth of the Bible. First Baptist has an early traditional service and a vibrant worship team that leads our praise and worship in our contemporary second service. Our church offers an Awana program for children through the sixth grade. McPherson is located in central Kansas and has a population of approximately 14,000. Our town has been voted as one of the top small towns in the USA to raise a family. Our middle school and high school youth currently meet separately Wednesday nights and as a combined group on Sunday nights and recently began a youth praise band. We have a special group of students with educational backgrounds from public, private, and home schooled settings. First Baptist has had two excellent youth pastors in the last 14 years and we value and support the youth of our church. We are seeking a candidate who loves God wholeheartedly and has a passion for leading students into a deeper relationship with Him. Qualified candidates will be organized and creative, possessing an ability to teach and be teachable, be evangelistic and able to communicate and work well with both students and adults. A portion of the youth pastor’s time will be devoted to outreach. . A Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Bible, Ministry, or related fields is preferred.
