Minister to Youth and Families
First Congregational Church in Hanson, MA
This is a new full time position in an actively growing church. We are looking for a person with a background in youth ministry who will team up with the senior pastor, the Christian Education Committee, and the current dedicated volunteer youth leaders to continue a vibrant ministry within our church and to share the Gospel message with the surrounding communities.
We offer:
a traditional 9 am worship service
a contemporary 11 am worship service
o with integrated Sunday School Program
The Minister to Youth and Families will:
give a childrens sermon at the 11 am service
teach high school Sunday School class
a midweek Confirmation Program
occasionally teach adult Bible Study
preach periodically
do outreach to and integrate new families
coordinate junior and senior high youth programs
perform contact work with teens and their families
This is a vital ministry in our church community and the successful candidate needs to be comfortable sharing the Christian faith and a Congregational understanding with both Christian and unchurched youth and their families. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong Christian character, be a self starter, and be creative in planning outings and activities throughout the year that will equip individuals to live a Christian life in their unique cultural setting.
