Qualifications:
The Organist must have demonstrated ability in areas of music leadership involving the organ with preferably a Master of Music degree in Church Music or Organ Performance or other area relating to church music, AGO certification, or equivalent experience.
The Organist must have an interest and ability in worship service playing and accompanying not only congregational singing but also various choral ensembles and ability to share that faith through music ministry and personal relationships. The demonstrated leadership abilities shall include the ability to articulate plans in writing in a timely manner and have the spirit to share in a team approach to ministry.
The organist will work under the supervision of The Director of Worship and Fine Arts.

Specific Duties:
The specific duties for the Organist shall include but not be limited to the following:
Serve as service organist for Sunday morning worship services, evening worship services and other special occasions (such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas and Advent concerts, Christmas Eve)
Serve as organist for funerals as requested (with compensation)
Serve as organist for weddings as planned (fee as set by wedding policy)
Accompany weekly rehearsals for the Sanctuary Choir, Youth Choir, others as assigned
Accompany Sanctuary Choir at the annual retreat
Supervise maintenance of the organ as provided by the annual budget
Participate in professional organizations such as the AGO as provided for in the annual budget
Demonstrate pastoral concern for all persons and their families who provide musical leadership in the church’s music program

Proficiencies:
Skilled in service playing to include improvisation, modulation and transposition
Superior accompanying ability
Superior sight-reading ability
Ability to teach and conduct choral music as needed (basic ability with a willingness to learn)
Excellent relational and communication skills with all age groups

Salary falls within the American Guild of Organist Base Pay Salary Range.
